Rustic Elopement
The Mohaka River is a breath-taking area of New Zealand. Nestled in the heart of Hawke’s Bay, with its large stones and earthy backdrops, it is the perfect setting for an intimate and unique elopement.
Inspired by the rustic, earthy-toned banks and the wilderness surrounding the river, the team of talented vendors created a ‘modern rustic’ wedding style with brass gold accents and pops of colour.
With the stunning riverside location, they chose a palette for the florals that would naturally occur. This ensured the florals added a sense of luxury and occasion while working harmoniously with the natural beauty of the surrounds. Developing a rustic interpretation, blooms in strong placements with clean lines were teamed with bold forms such as the fan palms to create a modern edge, while the dried grasses and seed heads softened the collection and added texture.
With a tousled and relaxed hair style, the bride is wearing a unique gown with a modern bohemian vibe. She teams her gown with a chic jacket and boots, to showcase her relaxed personality.
Using inspiration from the big river stones and beautiful natural-colored setting, the stylist chose to use linens that were earthy and textured with a pop of forest green and terracotta to really draw attention to the ceramic items. A touch of luxury was added by using mustard wingback chairs and touches of brass gold, and adding a modern twist by using mesh pillars for the ceremony.
Elopements are becoming increasingly popular for their sense of intimacy, creating a personal experience by putting all the focus on the couples and marriage itself. This styled shoot was created to inspire couples who choose to follow the romantic path of eloping.
